Shopian, Aug 4: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the appointment of former MLA Ajaz Ahmad Mir as the new District President for Shopian. Alongside him, senior party worker Raja Waheed has been nominated as the Vice District President for the district.
The decision, according to party sources, is aimed at strengthening the PDP’s organizational structure in Shopian and reviving grassroots-level activities ahead of upcoming political challenges.
Ajaz Ahmad Mir, known for his strong connect with the people of Shopian and Zainapora constituency, expressed gratitude to the party leadership for reposing faith in him. He pledged to work tirelessly for the welfare of the people and to strengthen the PDP’s base in the district.
Raja Waheed, on his nomination as Vice District President, said the responsibility is an opportunity to serve the people with dedication and to uphold the party’s vision of peace and development in the area.
PDP leadership has expressed confidence that the new team will reinvigorate the party cadre and ensure active participation of the youth in political and developmental processes in Shopian.
