10 Dead as Passenger Cab Plunges Into Deep Gorge in Ramban

JAMMU: At least ten persons lost their lives when a passenger cab falls into deep gorge along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in Ramban district of Jammu region on Friday.

The incident occurred at around 02:00 am on Friday, when a passenger cab (Tavera) on way from Jammu to Srinagar lost its control and fell i to deep gorge at Battery Chashma area of Ramban district, reports said.

Soon after the incident, a rescue operation was launched jointly by the teams of J&K Police, SDRF and civil QRT Ramban and 10 dead bodies have been recovered from the spot, they said.

Meanwhile, the Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said that he spoke to Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq after learning about tragic road accident at Battery Chashma area of the district that led to the loss of 10 lives. — (KIMS)
