Ghazi, Ubaid, Sajid Could Return; Rizwan, Khurram & Likely to Be Dropped
Test skipper Babar Azam is expected to fully recover from his finger injury and feature in the second Test against England at the historic Lord’s, beginning August 27.
In the absence of Babar Azam, the side was led by Salman Ali Agha in the Headingley test which the visitors lost by an innings and 103 runs.
The second Test of the three-match series at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London will run until August 31.
After the Headingley debacle, several changes are expected to be made to the side. Wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan and middle-order batter Salman Ali Agha could lose their places in the playing XI.
Ghazi is likely to replace Rizwan while Awais Zafar could come in for Agha. With Babar back into the playing XI, either Imam-ul-Haq or Awais Azan could lose place in the side.
If Babar is declared fit and returns to his original batting position as one drop, either top-order batter Azan Awais or Imam is likely to make way for the skipper.
There is also likelihood of Sajid Khan and Ali Usman, Pakistan’s two specialist spinners, playing at the Lord’s.
Right-arm pacer Ubaid Shah, brother of Naseem Shah, is also in contention for the second Test.
