Railway Protection Force (RPF) soldier shoots dead four persons, three of them Muslims

Mumbai, August 01: In a shocking incident of hate crime, a constable of Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Monday shot dead four people in a moving train.

Travelling in the Jaipur-Mumbai Express (12956) train, RPF Constable Chetan Singh shot dead his own colleague and three passengers while the train was running between Vaitarna and Mira Road stations.

Among the four deceased are RPF assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and three Muslims Sadar Mohammad, Abdul Kaserbhai and Asghar Abbas Sheikh in separate coaches.

Media reports said that after killing four persons, Constable Singh tried to escape but was nabbed and sent on police remand.
One of the deceased RPF assistant sub-inspector has been identified as Tika Ram Meena.

Singh shot a passenger in the B-5 coach after 5am, then shot dead another passenger in the pantry car five coaches away and went on to kill one more passenger in S-6 coach.

Singh while shooting four persons hailed Modi and Yogi and asked people to vote for them if they wanted to stay in India.

All four bodies were removed from the train at Borivali station and sent to Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital at Kandivali.

A purported video of RPF constable Chetan Kumar Singh shows him standing beside a bloodied body telling other passengers that if they want to vote and live in India, ‘Modi and Yogi, these are the two, and your Thackeray’, reported The Wire.
