PDP Undecided Thus Far
Srinagar: 18 July: Jammu and Kashmir’s two smaller regional parties, the J&K Peoples Conference and the J&K Apni Party, led by Sajad Gani Lone and Altaf Bukhari respectively, will not join the J&K National Conference’s proposed sit-in at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on 20 July.
Leaders of both regional parties said they won’t join the ruling JKNC, led by Farooq Abdullah, protest in Delhi, demanding Statehood and Constitutional guarantees for the region.
Sajad Lone said the JKNC needed to go through the route of the J&K Assmebly by passing a strong resolution inside the House.
“After exhausting all options, protests should be the last refuge,” Lone said, addling, “our fight is for the return of 4 August 2019 status, special status, Articles 370 and 35A”.
Meanwhile, the J&K Congress will participate in the JKNC sit-in and organise district wise symbolic protests on 19 July, a day ahead of the protest at Jantar Mantar.
