Srinagar: 13 July: Pakistan will feature in a two-match away Test series against the West Indies, led by skipper Babar Azam, while the former captain Shan Masood will play as a player in the squad.

The series begins on 25 July with a test match in Tarouba followed by the second and the last test in Port of Spain from 02 to 06 August.

The Pakistani test team will straightaway travel to England to play a three-match Test series.

The first test against England will start on 19 August in Leeds, the second test at the famed Lord’s from 27-31 August, and the third and the final test of the series is scheduled for 9-13 September in Birmingham.

According to Cricinfo, Pakistan’s test coach Sarfaraz Ahmed said that the confidence of Shan Masood was high and so were his spirits.

“I spoke to Shan Masood and his confidence and spirits are high,” Sarfaraz was quoted as having said after a training session on the eve of Pakistan’s departure for the West Indies to play a warm-up game and two Tests.

Pakistan will play their warm-up fixture from 18-21 July in Tarouba.

“He prepared well but had a slight hamstring niggle. But his attitude was excellent. Shan is a senior player and a very sensible one. He understands how to get through this. The way he contributed as captain, he will now contribute as player too,” Sarfaraz said as per Cricinfo.

Pakistan squad for the West Indies and England tours:

Babar Azam (captain), Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Shan Masood, Mohammad Rizwan, Aamer Jamal, Sajid Khan; Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Abbas, Ubaid Shah, Ali Usman, Abdullah Fazal, Awais Zafar, Azan Awais, Ghazi Ghori.
